Top high street rug buys for under £200

I love rugs, I would cover my entire carpet in them if I could. Often people will ask for my advice when decorating and styling and the thing their room is nearly always missing, is a rug. For me, it just ties the whole room together, it can add colour, warmth and texture all in one hit, so whats not to love?

Buying a rug can be a difficult task as its imperative to get it right, as if you buy online and you don’t like it or you have ordered the wrong size then returning it isn’t easy.

I have collated some of my go to places when it comes to rug shopping and all for under £200 each.

French Connection

If you haven’t seen the French Connection homeware collection then you are seriously missing out because they are KILLING it at the moment!

La Redoute

When you think of La Redoute rugs you probably think of ‘THAT’ rug that everyone has. If you have no idea what i’m talking about then La Redoute released an Afaw berber style rug that was lets just say ‘extremely popular’ and still is.

THAT RUG
Afaw Berber Style Rug – From £99
However, lets not let the popularity of the Afaw rug take away some of the other delights you can find on their website. Here are a couple of my faves…

Markus Kilim Style Wool Rug – from £159

Taserki Leather Rug – from £69

Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters always have dreamy rugs at great prices, the only down side is they tend to all be flat weave so if you’re after a higher density rug then expect to pay a bit more from them.

Here are a couple of my favourites from Urban Outfitters…

Tk Maxx / Homesense

You can’t buy online from Homesense, you can however buy Homesense products online at TK Maxx, including rugs! Their stock turnover is really high so if you see something you like on their site, then grab it quickly as there is likely to be limited availability.

Here are a few of my faves from their site…

Ikea

Ikea have recently launched a whole load of persian rugs, they are very traditional but fear not if you’re after something a little more subtle then they have something for you too.

LOHALS £75
KOLDBY £180

Ebay

And last but by no means least, Ebay. Ebay is top dog if you are looking for an antique persian style rug, there are thousands to choose from and will suit any budget. Ebay isn’t just for pre owned and vintage items though, you can pick up almost any style rug, just do your research and check the feedback before you make any purchases.

Until next time

Totally agree about French Connection and La Redoute. I noticed them a few months back and kept the catalogues for future use 🙂
