I’m in shock…

I’m in shock…

This weekend I did something that has not only shocked me (we’re talking jaw dropping) but has made me feel utterly ashamed as well.

I cleaned my carpets!

Now people might be thinking oh right, whats the big deal? But let me tell you this, hoovering daily which is what I do, is not enough. Maybe everyone else regularly cleans their carpets and I am the odd one out, but something tells me i’m not alone, so if you are in the same boat then please read on and you will SEE what I am talking about.

On Friday morning I unboxed something of a game changer, and that something was a Vax Dual Power Carpet Cleaner.

Inside the box was the carpet cleaner itself, a hose accessory with an attachment for upholstery and hard to reach areas a bag to keep them in and carpet cleaner solution.

It was really simple to put together, I barely looked at the instructions, everything just clicked in to place and was clearly labelled.

Once i’d filled it up with the solution and warm (not hot) water, I got to work. First I thoroughly hoovered our living room and by thoroughly I mean I pulled everything out. I did it in sections so that I didn’t have to move anything too far from where it belonged, then I started to clean the carpets with the cleaner and my word was I not prepared for what I was about to see.

The carpet cleaner has two tanks, one for the clean water and one for the dirty water, as I was using it the dirty water tank began to fill up with what I can only describe as what looked like a muddy puddle. I’m not sure why I was so shocked, we have lived here for four years and I am ashamed to say we have never had our carpets cleaned in that time, apart from using carpet foam and other products you find in supermarkets, that don’t really work that well.

The dirty water tank 🤢

underneath our sofa before, sorry I know it’s gross!

After I had hoovered and cleaned with the Vax carpet cleaner.

Not only did it extract the dirt in to the water, it pulled up dust, fur and debris that the hoover hadn’t managed to, which resulted in disgusting soggy clumps being left behind.

Gross huh?!

The state of our carpet was not only shocking, it was embarrassing, but I know there are so many people out there that aren’t cleaning their carpets on a regular basis, that like us thought that hoovering was enough. I am now working my way through every room ensuring our carpets are as clean as they can possibly be and I would stress to anyone to do the same.

After i’d finished the carpet I cleaned our rug, fabric footstool and one of our sofas (the other is velvet) using the attachment provided. I’m so pleased with the results.

I can highly recommend the Vax Dual Power Carpet Cleaner it has completely changed my outlook on making sure our carpets are clean and safe for our children to sit and play on.

Until next time,

Hayley
